One of Australia’s rising talents in snow, Emily was first introduced to the general audience as the flag bearer for the 2016 Youth Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, where she took silver in Half-Pipe.

Two years later, Emily represented her homeland in Half-Pipe during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

The event saw her take a heavy blow. The ever optimistic athlete remained positive: “I really went for it in my last run. I think I definitely could have moved up a bit with that run. But it’s ok, my first Olympics and I got 11th. I’m really happy. It was just amazing, to be honest. Everyone is here, my family. It was just so fun. I just can’t wait to do another one.”

Emily joined the ROXY family in 2000 and has since developed tight bonds with the team’s snow girls, taking part in numerous mountain campaign shoots.

Q&A WITH EMILY:

Favourite place to travel? My favourite place to travel for snowboarding would have to be Switzerland. The mountains are so beautiful and so fun to ride, and exploring the small towns and cities is always a bonus. The United States is a very close second.

Best moment in your career? I’ve had a couple moments, but I don’t think I can really go past the Olympics. Competing at the Games was such an honour and living in the village after my event with everyone was so much fun as well. Definitely hoping to be able to go again!

Favourite things to do when not riding? I appreciate as much time with my family and friends as I can when I’m home! Being able to go the beach with my mates when I’m home is for sure one of my favourite things to do.

Fashion essentials? In the winter, having a big cold weather coat is absolutely essential, and it helps if it’s cute as well ;) You can also never go past a nice big knitted sweater. In the summer it’s all about dresses for me. My whole wardrobe is coats and dresses ahah!

Favourite moment with ROXY? The ROXY snow shoots are the highlight of my year! Going away with the girls to a new place is so much fun and going on a pow trip is something I never usually get to do. I’m always so thankful to go on those trips with all the ROXY girls who I respect so much and just go for a rip around!
